What do you get when a Derry girl marries a Scottish DJ? An extravaganza of Celtic traditions, bags of style and a party that didn’t stop until the wee hours! We had the pleasure of dressing Hector Barbour, AKA Denis Sulta, on his wedding day to Derry Girls star Saoirse-Monica Jackson. Keep reading to learn how Hector’s unique look came together.

Hector visited our flagship store in Glasgow’s city centre for his groomswear appointments. The Scottish DJ had been heavily inspired by his father’s own traditional wedding day look and wanted to honour both this outfit and his heritage. Hector chose our Hebridean MacKenzie tartan, which features subtle yet striking tones of purple, green and cream. He finished the ensemble with a fly plaid, Montrose doublet jacket and quirky Glengarry hat. We loved this unique blend of very traditional highlandwear with modern styling, it perfectly captured Hector’s rebellious nature and personality.

Hector’s groom’s party also got fully kilted up in Scottish style. They wore our formal Prince Charlie Jackets and Waistcoats with our Modern MacKenzie tartan to seamlessly tie in with the groom’s kilt. Take the stress out of planning your wedding party outfits with our dedicated Wedding Party Service. Not only will our team be there every step of the way when outfit planning, you can also take advantage of our exclusive deals.

Tartan isn’t just for the grooms! Saoirse surprised her new husband as her corset was reversed for a tartan reveal in the evening. A touch of matching tartan and Saoirse and Hector were ready to party the night away. The couple made such an effort to embrace both their Irish and Scottish roots and the result was a day that was truly unique to them.

Hector and Saoirse’s special day really shows that you can embrace tradition while still being true to your personal style and adding a contemporary flair. Get in touch with our team to start creating your dream groomswear today, no matter your style or budget.
