The Opening of MacGregor and MacDuff’s Flagship Store
We are extremely excited to announce that today marks the official launch of our new flagship store! Located on 39 Bath Street, we now have a presence on all three levels of the building; meaning our stylists have the space to measure for arranging kilt hires, do sales appointments, as well as have a specific area for pre-booked and impromptu groom’s fittings.
Our new store follows the design of our recent Prestwick and Dumbarton Road refits. Our head Visual Merchandiser, Jill, worked alongside Aleksandra from Skela Studio, to create a design for our shop interior and exteriors. Heavily inspired by antique and industrial design elements, it was important for each of our store designs to reflect and represent the quality and craftsmanship of traditional kiltmaking. We pride ourselves on the quality of our product, and the use of antique and upcycled furnishings throughout our stores are a nod to products of the same high quality. Jill worked closely with Gordon from Rust Works; who assisted with sourcing and the making of some of the key pieces featured in our stores. Gordon was able to find hidden gems in the heart of Glasgow including old printer trays which he turned into tables, as well as upcycling old wood to create the shelves used for showcasing our accessories.
Our visual merchandising team worked closely with several different local artists and suppliers to create our unique store design which oozes quality, design and craftsmanship. Michael Scott, a freehand signage painter has beautifully hand painted murals on the walls in each of our stores and head office. In our flagship we worked on several different features, including our striking sporran and bow tie display. Each element of the store is eye-catching and inspired by the rich heritage of your kilt outfit.
Window Inspiration
The window display is a visual representation of the story behind MacGregor and MacDuff - beautifully inspired by Scotland. Featuring three of our exclusive ‘Mist’ tartans, we then worked with Jennifer Morrison Flowers to create an exquisite floral display that surrounds the outfits. The iconic blooms pull out the colours that inspired the designs of our exclusive tartans, and is a portrayal of breathtaking Scottish scenery and heritage. In-store we have a visual mood board that links to the idea behind our window display, and this will be frequently updated with outfit inspiration or as a visual link to an element in-store.
We have three spacious fitting rooms that are the perfect location for grooms to decide on their kilt outfit. During your fitting, one of our stylists will be there to assist and advise you on each element of your outfit while you have the opportunity to try on different garments and accessories. The spacious area means that you and your partner can relax and enjoy a refreshment while choosing your perfect Highlandwear outfit.
We look forward to seeing you soon for a luxury kilt fitting in our new flagship store!
