MacGregor and MacDuff take on the Glasgow Kiltwalk

MacGregor and MacDuff became Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity’s 40th official partner at the beginning of the year.  Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity is at the heart of the children’s hospital; raising money to ensure that young patients and their families receive the best possible care. The charity support the hospital and their patients in several ways from patient and family support services, fundraising for medical equipment and putting their time and efforts into a play and entertainment programme; these are only a handful of the many amazing things that they do. We are keen to support the charity in any way that we can, and thought it only right we got involved with the Glasgow Kiltwalk to fundraise for the charity!

The Glasgow Kiltwalk is one of Glasgow’s biggest annual events. This year it was bigger than ever with over 13,000 walkers taking part and supporting over 700 charities all over Scotland. This tremendous event has a walk for everyone; from the 23 mile Mighty Stride, 15 mile Big Stroll to the 6 mile Wee Wander. Eager walkers took on the event draped in tartan and wearing kilts. MacGregor and MacDuff offered free of charge kilt hires to people taking part in the Kiltwalk and for each hire booked donated £5 to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

Alongside our free of charge kilt hires, MacGregor and MacDuff’s Head Office team decided to take on the 15 mile Big Stroll. All keen to support the charity, the team did their own fundraising to add to the funds gained from the kilt hires. After a wonderful day full of cheering support, music and sore legs; we are thrilled to have raised a total of £1900 for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.  The money we raised will be topped up by 40% by the Glasgow Kiltwalk and will go towards supporting the charity’s Renal Appeal which is aiming to raise £500,000 to support children battling kidney failure at the children’s hospital.

The Glasgow Kiltwalk was a fantastic event, and we are looking forward to getting involved again next year!
