Our Dumbarton Road store has just undergone a makeover! This is our second store to have a facelift that fits in with our new branding, showcasing the quality and craftsmanship that is MacGregor and MacDuff. We first opened our Dumbarton Road store in 2006, the shop has been a great success and was our leading ex-hire store for many years. Perfect for kilt fittings, hiring a kilt in Glasgow's West End or coming in with your wedding party, the spacious shop is in a great location; close to the train station and easy access to street parking.
The shop has the same features as our Prestwick store, including a hand painted mural by a local artist and the stand out bespoke feature wall; which has been made from reclaimed scaffolding and wood. Jill, our visual merchandiser, told us that her favourite feature in this store is the antique cabinet that is used to showcase a range of different accessories that we have on offer. She sourced the cabinet in an antique shop in Glasgow, and discovered that the cabinet was initially used in a small family run haberdashery shop in the East End of Glasgow that had operated for over 100 years. It is so important to us to use sustainable materials and upcycle, this antique cabinet highlights just how long lasting a high quality product can be.
Our visual merchandising team have decorated the interior with the theme of the story of our new tartan, Islay Mist. The large window is the perfect home for our colour explosion display, which showcases the separate colours of yarn that together form our exclusive Islay Mist tartan. The antique cabinet features a range of accessories on a bed of moss and stones that help to represent the scenery of the Isle of Islay.
The Dumbarton Road store is open and ready for customers. We will be having an official launch weekend to celebrate our newly furnished Dumbarton Road store in the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled for any special discounts and treats!
