A Brief History Clan Lennox

Clan Lennox is a lowland clan and can be traced to the region of Dunbartonshire, west Scotland. The clan dates back to the 12th century and their motto is I'll Defend. 

A prominent figure in the clan's early history is Alwyn, Earl of Lennox, who had considerable political influence during the medieval period. Through alliances with other influential clans such as the Stewarts and the Campbells, the Lennoxes secured their position in Scottish society, playing a large role in Scottish affairs.

With the clan being so involved in Scottish politics, their wealth was heavily reliant on political structure. This meant that when power in Scotland shifted, the clan was often open to financial vulnerability. However, the clan was able to navigate the complexities of Scottish politics and continued to create a lasting legacy.
