At the start of 2022, we announced that we were partnering with Islay Mist Whisky. A whisky brand that not only shared a lot of the same values and love for Scotland that MacGregor and MacDuff do but also a whisky brand with the same name as one of our exclusive Mist tartans. When people think of Scotland, the first two things that usually come to mind are whisky and tartan, so when the opportunity arose, we jumped at the chance and since then, have accomplished so much already.
To celebrate the launch of our partnership, we started gifting people who bought or hired an Islay Mist kilt outfit a miniature bottle of Islay Mist Whisky in their sporran. Islay Mist Whisky is light and easy to drink which made it the perfect offering for whisky lovers and also those who are new to drinking whisky.
In each Islay Mist customer's sporrans, alongside the miniature bottle of Islay Mist Whisky, we added a 10% discount voucher. This voucher is redeemable against an exclusive 70cl bottle of Islay Mist Whisky with our Islay Mist tartan printed on the label at Good Spirits Co. There are a limited number of these special edition tartan bottles which makes them not only a great whisky to enjoy, but also a bottle that could be collected and stored as a memento.
Next on the calendar was an event to celebrate the partnership with people from both brands, as well as some of our partners that we work closely with. We decided to dress our flagship store on Bath Street in Glasgow to look like a wedding venue, with table placements and wedding decor. We heard from our marketing heads, Monique and Julie, who spoke about each side of the partnership and we were also presented with a full Islay Mist outfit where our Head of Retail, Dominic, explained the concept of our Islay Mist tartan design.
During the event, we also got to see the latest offering from the Islay Mist Whisky x Islay Mist Tartan partnership, bespoke whisky wedding favours. These new wedding favours are perfect for grooms who choose to wear Islay Mist tartan on their wedding day. Complete with the Islay Mist tartan design on the label, each bottle can be personalised to suit the happy couples' wedding date and guest names.
The night was filled with rich conversation about Scotland, highlandwear, and whisky. The whole event was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The best part is, the partnership is just getting started, so make sure you stay tuned.
