Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Collaboration

At MacGregor and MacDuff we have a passion for creativity and craftsmanship. Whether it’s designing a new tartan or creating a new outfit style, we love to get creative. One of our favorite creative outlets is our shop windows. These windows allow us to showcase MacGregor and MacDuffs passion for craftsmanship, and our love of kiltsWindow Display - MacGregor and MacDuffOur current window display at our city centre store is incredibly special as we have teamed up with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. They designed and created a window for us with the theme of ‘Master Kiltmakers’.

Together with the Conservatoire we created a real life business scenario for the students, which included a brief, timescale and budget. Lu Herbert who is a final year student studying BA Production Arts and Design specialising in Set and Costume Design rose to the challenge and spearheaded the project leading it from mock-up to installation. Bath Street Kilt StoreLu Herbert managed to capture the essence of what a master kiltmaker is. Using handcrafted gold sewing props to highlight the craftsmanship and a mystical scenic backdrop to set the mood, the Arran Mist Outfit centrepiece stands out fantastically. The Norwood accessories also work really well with the scene as they compliment the golds in the backdrop as well as the props. Glasgow HighlandwearWe really enjoyed working with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and are very happy with how our shop window boldly stands in front of the hundreds of people that walk by each day. If you are on Bath Street be sure to have a look or even better, get in touch with us to book a fitting. Whether you are looking to hire an outfit for an upcoming event or are looking for an outfit that you can wear for a lifetime, we are here to help. Email our team at info@macgregorandmacduff.co.uk for bookings and more information.
